How to do it on Yenko

  1. Create the event with free registration, paid tickets or both, for example Free, Regular and Partner tickets with their own limits and sales end dates.

  2. Make a family or group pass that admits several people, so a family of four registers once and walks in together.

  3. Link the event to your building fund and choose a share of every ticket, say 10%, to go to it. Buyers can also add their own gift at checkout.

  4. On the day, ushers scan QR tickets with any phone. Check-in staff only see the scanner, and repeat scans are flagged.

How to do it on Yenko

  1. Create a cause with your story, a goal, suggested amounts and what each amount pays for.

  2. Add your M-Pesa Paybill and account number so members can give straight from their phones. Record cash, bank and Paybill gifts in your dashboard and they count towards the total.

  3. Say who controls the money, for example “Treasurer controlled: 3 signatories approve withdrawals”, in the trust box on the page.

  4. Let members give monthly by card, post updates with photos, and print a QR poster for the church noticeboard.

Questions churches and groups ask

Can we run free registration instead of selling tickets?

Yes. Free tickets skip the payment step entirely, and you still get a guest list, QR tickets by email and check-in at the door. You can mix free and paid ticket types on the same event.

Can one ticket cover a whole family?

Yes. A ticket type can admit several people, like a Family pass for 4 or a Table for 8, and it sells as a single purchase.

How does “every ticket gives” work?

Link your event to one of your causes and choose a percentage of each ticket to go to it. Buyers can also add their own gift at checkout. Both count towards the cause's goal.

Can we accept offline cash gifts?

Yes. Record cash, bank transfer, M-Pesa Paybill, mobile money or cheque gifts from your dashboard. They are added to the cause's total, and the page shows how much was given offline, so the number everyone sees matches your books.

Can members abroad give or buy tickets?

Yes. Visitors can see amounts in their own currency, and members abroad can pay by card in US dollars, British pounds or euros where card payments are switched on. The options at checkout depend on the currency and on which payment providers the site admin has set up.

Who controls the money?

Your organisation does. Online payments go through your own M-Pesa, Paystack, Flutterwave or Stripe accounts, which the site admin connects to Yenko, and each provider pays out on its usual terms. Paybill and cash gifts come straight to you. On each cause page you can say how funds are managed, for example “Treasurer controlled: 3 signatories approve withdrawals”.

Can members fundraise for us?

Yes. Supporters can start their own fundraiser page for your cause, and a leaderboard ranks the pages by amount raised. It works well for classes, year groups, chama members and church departments. You can switch fundraiser pages off for any cause.

Can people give in memory of someone?

Yes. Givers can dedicate a gift “in memory of” or “in honour of” someone and leave a message for the family.

Can members give every month?

Yes, by card through Paystack, Flutterwave or Stripe, when monthly giving is on for your cause. M-Pesa gifts are one-off.

Who can check people in at the door?

Add your ushers as Check-in staff. They open the scanner on their own phones and see nothing else: not your sales, and not your donations.
